The authors: Christof Thoenes studied art history in Berlin and Pavia, before completing his doctorate in Berlin. He has contributed to numerous publications on Italian art, particularly on architecture and architectural theory of the 15th to 18th centuries. Bernd Evers completed his doctorate in art history before embarking on a career as a librarian; since 1985 he has been director of the Kunstbibliothek der Staatlichen Museen in Berlin. He has published numerous articles on book and library studies.

About the Author

Architecture theory and history

I didn't find this book until the end of the semester, but it covers what we have been discussing in both architectural theory and history. I would recomend this for any architecture students who want a quick overview of prominent figures of architectural thought with illustrations that help to clearly convey their ideas. This book has many of the same pictures/drawings as are featured in much more expensive history books (like Spiro Kostof's "Settings and Rituals"). This book is only an overview, but will be a quite helpful addition to any student's library.

Mary Johnston (November 21, 1870 – May 9, 1936) was an American novelist and women's rights advocate.
The daughter of an American Civil War soldier who became a successful lawyer, Mary Johnston was born in the small town of Buchanan, Virginia. A small and frail girl, she was educated at home by family and tutors. She grew up with a love of books and was financially independent enough to devote herself to writing.
Johnston wrote historical books and novels that often combined romance with history. Her first book Prisoners of Hope (1898) dealt with colonial times in Virginia as did her second novel To Have and to Hold (1900) and 1904's Sir Mortimer. The Goddess of Reason (1907) uses the theme of the French Revolution and in Lewis Rand (1908), the author portrayed political life at the dawn of the 19th century.
To Have and to Hold was serialized in the The Atlantic Monthly in 1899 and published in 1900 by Houghton Mifflin. The book proved enormously popular and was the bestselling novel in the United States in 1900. Johnston's next work titled Audrey was the 5th bestselling book in the U.S. in 1902, and Sir Mortimer serialized in the Harper's Monthly Magazine from November 1903 through April 1904 and published in 1904. Her best-selling 1911 novel on the American Civil War, The Long Roll, brought her into open conflict with Stonewall Jackson's widow, Mary Anna Jackson. Beyond her native America, Johnston's novels were also very popular in Canada and in England.
Johnston died in 1936, at the age of 65, at her home in Warm Springs, Virginia. She was interred in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond.

Awesome standalone book

This has become one of my favorite books of Sam's. Shaun and Addie were perfect for each other although they didn't acknowledge it for the first three years of their marriage. I was also glad to see that he didn't cheat on her during that time. And their parents!!! God, I would hate to have parents like those 4. It was awesome to see Shaun put them in their place. The secondary story of Dean and Darla was really good too and I'm glad we got to see a bit of their story. I would highly recommend this book.

A lot, of things didn't really add up or just way glossed over. He would say that he had never tasted her cooking and he had missed out on so much cause she had always had takeout before their one day a month they have sex. Right after she said that she tested out all her food on him without him knowing. Then they go three years of having the same routine of sex ones a month to try and get pregnant. And all the other days they live their own lives. Ok, that's believable. What's not believable is that he had no idea that the was a games cook, with a tv show, a book out and she's been having interviews all over the place and somehow he never knew?? Granted they both live in septet houses but still......
The other big flaw in this book is that the h was a virgin when they got married and the wedding night was a total flop. Setting the pace for the next three years of bad sex ones a month. Ok, that's believable too. A little bit of a stretch but could happen. Here's where it does not work though. They have still had sex enough times that something should have happened for her. Had any kind of a response to him. Especially if she says later on that she had seen his beautiful body mAny times but what? It never did anything for her till he pushes her against a wall and magically made her come just by rubbing her through her jeans and some deep kisses? After three years?? Three years of actually having him I her doing the same thing.
She also keep saying that she had no idea sex could be like this or that this is what sex was like. Did she never watch any movies or tv OR read any books OR talk to friends? Surly she had heard at leased once in her life what sex was like. Don't know how she had missed that.
I'm not explaining it right. So just read it. It's not a bad book, just really glossed over. Could of had some real emotional times to it. But they became friends so fast after and forgave echo other like it was nothing after three years of being completely cold to one another that it just did not feel me with a lot of emotion. Maybe if it had been only one year.

This story is sweet, romantic and hilarious all at the same time! The story is about billionaire Shaun and Addison his wife. They have a very unconventional relationship and after 3 long years they realized the marriage is awful as is the sex. We navigate with them through discovering each other.

Funny I'm rating a college text book. I must really be institutionalized...get it ? ;) no really. I took the prior class with another text book that was obviously written by a schizo because I felt insane after each read. This one reads well and I enjoyed the first week using it. Fingers crossed.
